China Launches Passenger Train from Beijing to Moscow for the First Time Since the Pandemic
The train consists of 12 newly manufactured Chinese railcars that have not been previously used in Russia. These are modernized passenger cars designed for long-distance travel and adapted to various climate conditions.
Testing on Russian railways will continue until March 11, 2025. During this period, evaluations will be conducted on the train’s technical performance, its adaptation to Russian infrastructure, and compliance with safety regulations.
The resumption of passenger rail services between China and Russia marks an important step in strengthening transport cooperation between the two countries. This initiative is expected to increase tourism flow and further enhance trade and cultural ties.
Following the tests, a decision will be made on establishing regular services on the Beijing–Moscow route.
