Hamas reports hundreds of ceasefire violations in Gaza
Senior Hamas official Ghazi Hamad stated that Israel has been systematically violating the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip. According to him, since the agreement entered into force, 813 violations have been recorded, averaging about 25 incidents per day. The statement was made during a televised address focused on the current situation surrounding the ceasefire regime.
Hamad said that, in the movement’s assessment, the Israeli side has violated or distorted virtually all provisions of the agreement. He claimed that killings and executions of civilians, shelling of civilian areas, airstrikes, and targeted actions against representatives of Palestinian resistance have taken place. According to him, these actions continue despite the formal implementation of the ceasefire.
Special attention in the statement was given to the so-called “yellow line,” which defines the permitted limits of Israeli forces’ movement. Hamad asserted that Israeli units advanced up to two kilometers deep into the Gaza Strip, thereby exceeding agreed parameters and violating the terms of the agreement.
The Hamas representative emphasized that the movement, according to him, fully adheres to the terms of the agreement and has not committed a single violation. He said this had been confirmed by mediators involved in the monitoring mechanism for the implementation of the agreements. In this context, Hamad placed responsibility for further developments on international mediators, stating that their inaction contributes to the continuation of violations.
According to Hamad, the ongoing violations undermine the very foundation of the ceasefire agreement and threaten its sustainability. He noted that the lack of response from guarantors and mediators creates conditions for further escalation and deprives the agreement of practical meaning.
The statement came amid persistent tensions in the Gaza Strip and ongoing discussions about the prospects for a durable ceasefire. Hamas representatives insist on the need for international intervention to ensure compliance with the agreements reached and to prevent further deterioration of the humanitarian and security situation in the region.
Hamas said it would continue documenting violations and conveying the information to mediators and international bodies. According to movement representatives, continued disregard of the stated facts could lead to the collapse of the agreement and a resumption of large-scale hostilities.
