Saudi Arabia to Build the World’s First “Floating” Stadium
The project will be part of the NEOM megacity, being developed in the northwest of the country under the national Vision 2030 program. According to architects, the stadium will be built on an elevated platform that visually creates the effect of levitation. The structure will combine cutting-edge engineering solutions, eco-technologies, and digital energy management systems.
The stadium is designed to host international tournaments and will serve as one of the venues for the 2034 FIFA World Cup, which Saudi Arabia will host. The facility will be fully powered by solar and wind energy, while its cooling and lighting systems will be controlled by artificial intelligence.
Developers say the NEOM Stadium will become a symbol of the country’s new urban philosophy, focused on sustainable development, innovation, and minimal environmental impact. The project also includes transport integration with other NEOM facilities, including high-speed metro lines and helicopter terminals.
