A Soyuz-2.1A launch vehicle successfully lifted off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome, carrying the crewed spacecraft Soyuz MS-27. Onboard are Russian cosmonauts Sergey Ryzhikov and Alexey Zubritsky, along with NASA astronaut Jonny Kim.

The spacecraft is headed to the International Space Station (ISS), where the crew will spend several months on an expedition lasting until December 9, 2025. During the mission, they will conduct a wide range of scientific and technical experiments, maintain station operations, and participate in international projects under the ISS program.

For Sergey Ryzhikov, this marks his third spaceflight. For Alexey Zubritsky and Jonny Kim—a former Navy SEAL and physician—it is their first mission to space. Their work will focus on advancing research in microgravity, including medicine, physics, and next-generation technologies.

The launch proceeded as scheduled. Rendezvous and docking with the ISS are planned to occur automatically, followed by the crew joining the long-duration expedition aboard the station.
