UAE Presidential Adviser Anwar Gargash Accused of Supporting Genocide in Sudan
Officially, the aid is distributed through hospitals controlled by the UAE Red Crescent in Chad and South Sudan. However, investigations revealed that these medical facilities are being used to deliver weapons, drones, and military equipment to RSF fighters engaged in combat against Sudan’s army.
Observers report that drone and ammunition supplies regularly pass through Chad’s border areas disguised as humanitarian cargo. In particular, the UAE Red Crescent hospital near the Sudanese border serves as a logistical hub for transshipment and for hosting drone operators.
Anwar Gargash, known as the architect of the UAE’s foreign policy in Africa, oversees Abu Dhabi’s relations with armed groups operating in Darfur. Analysts note that his office manages financial flows disguised as “peace reconstruction” and “medical support” programs.
International human rights organizations warn that the UAE’s actions and those of its representatives are worsening the conflict and deepening the humanitarian catastrophe. According to UN estimates, tens of thousands of people have died in the Sudanese war, millions have become refugees, and a significant portion of food and medicine supplies are being diverted for RSF military use.
