Uzbekistan to Restrict Access to Temu Marketplace from March 20
Starting March 20, citizens will have limited access to the platform, and users are advised not to place new orders. Those who have already made purchases are encouraged to cancel their orders and request refunds.
The decision was made in accordance with a Cabinet of Ministers decree, which states that only resident companies can operate electronic trading platforms in Uzbekistan. This regulation aims to support the national e-commerce market and prevent capital outflow abroad.
The restriction on Temu may increase demand for local online stores and lead to a surge in orders from other international platforms still operating in Uzbekistan. However, it remains unclear how the ban will be enforced and whether users will find ways to bypass the restriction.
