Xi Jinping and Modi held their first meeting in five years in Kazan
The first bilateral meeting between Chinese leader Xi Jinping and Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the last five years took place in Kazan. One of the key topics was the agreement on joint patrolling of the Himalayan border, which was scheduled a few days earlier. Washington is watching the strengthening of Sino-Indian ties with concern, noting that 25 years of diplomatic efforts may be in jeopardy.
