Saudi Arabia Performs Its First Robot-Assisted Implantation of an Artificial Heart Pump
Doctors at King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSHRC) in Saudi Arabia successfully implanted a HeartMate 3 artificial heart pump into a 35-year-old patient suffering from severe heart failure. Using robotic surgery, the team minimized trauma and accelerated recovery. The patient was moved out of intensive care just four days after the procedure, with discharge expected within ten days.
