Putin and Pashinyan Discuss Peace Between Armenia and Azerbaijan
During the conversation, Pashinyan provided the Russian president with detailed information on the outcome of his meeting with US President Donald Trump and Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev, held on August 8 in Washington. According to the Armenian prime minister, the talks in the US capital focused on bilateral relations, regional security, and prospects for a peaceful settlement between Yerevan and Baku.
In response, Vladimir Putin stressed the importance of steps aimed at strengthening lasting peace between Armenia and Azerbaijan. The Russian leader emphasized that resolving contentious issues requires consistent actions and dialogue based on mutual respect and adherence to previously reached agreements.
The President of Russia also informed Pashinyan about the main results of his conversation with Whitcoff and about the preparations for the upcoming meeting with US President Donald Trump, scheduled for August in Alaska. Preparatory measures include working through key topics, among them issues of international security and cooperation on a number of regional conflicts.
According to official sources, both sides confirmed their readiness to continue contacts at various levels to discuss pressing bilateral and regional issues.
