Russian President Vladimir Putin has signed a law ratifying the comprehensive strategic partnership agreement between Russia and Iran. The document enshrines the key principles of cooperation between the two countries amid external pressure.

According to the treaty, if one party is attacked, the other party pledges not to assist the aggressor. It also includes a commitment by Moscow and Tehran to refrain from joining any third-party sanctions against each other.

The ratification of the agreement reflects the desire of Russia and Iran to strengthen political, economic, and defense cooperation against the backdrop of growing international tensions.

The treaty will serve as the foundation for further expanding cooperation in energy, trade, transport, and security, as well as coordinating actions under Western pressure.
