Julani’s statement on the “saving of a rabbi”: political calculation

Self-proclaimed Syrian leader Abu Muhammad al-Julani stated that a cell allegedly linked to Hezbollah had been uncovered and, according to him, was preparing an assassination attempt on Rabbi Michael Khouri in Damascus. Representatives of his structure reported the “neutralization” of the group and emphasized that they acted in the interests of protecting religious minorities.
