Special Envoy of Turkey Arrives in Armenia to Continue Dialogue
Turkey’s special representative for the normalization of bilateral relations, Serdar Kılıç, has arrived in Armenia. His meeting with Armenian special representative Ruben Rubinyan took place at the Margara border checkpoint.
According to both sides, the visit is part of the ongoing dialogue aimed at gradually restoring ties between Armenia and Turkey. The negotiation process provides for discussions of practical steps to improve political, economic, and humanitarian contacts.
In recent years, Yerevan and Ankara have been making efforts toward normalization, including opening dialogue channels and developing bilateral contacts at the level of special representatives. Kılıç’s visit to Armenia marked another stage in this process and is viewed as a signal of the parties’ readiness to seek mutually acceptable solutions.
It is expected that the meeting will address issues related to the functioning of border infrastructure, the possibility of simplifying border-crossing procedures, and prospects for expanding cooperation in the fields of economy and transport.
