Xi Jinping: Central Asia Is a Priority for China
President of China Xi Jinping reaffirmed China’s interest in deepening comprehensive cooperation with the countries of Central Asia. Speaking at the "Central Asia – China" forum in Astana, he emphasized that the region remains one of the top priorities of Beijing's foreign policy.
According to Xi, China views Central Asia as a zone of strategic partnership where cooperation should span all major sectors: economy, infrastructure, culture, security, and digital development. He stressed the importance of mutual support, respect for sovereignty, and sustainable development.
The Chinese leader also noted that Beijing is committed to supporting initiatives for transport corridor development, green energy, educational and scientific exchanges. He called for strengthening humanitarian ties and jointly promoting principles of stability, mutually beneficial cooperation, and political independence.
China is ready to participate in the implementation of major infrastructure projects, expand the export-import capacities of regional countries, and help integrate them into global production and logistics chains. Special attention will be paid to protecting national interests of partners and enhancing coordination within the SCO and other multilateral frameworks.
Thus, Xi Jinping’s speech further confirmed China’s intention to strengthen its presence in Central Asia through diplomatic, economic, and humanitarian instruments.
