Russia and North Korea have begun construction of an 850-meter-long road bridge. Currently, the two countries are connected only by a railway bridge. The opening of the new crossing is scheduled for summer 2026.
The bridge over the Huajiang Canyon will open in June 2025, cutting travel time across the gorge from 70 minutes to just one.
