The pilots of the Embraer E190 that crashed in Aktau have been praised for their exceptional skills, which saved the lives of 32 passengers. According to aviation experts, they managed to bring an almost uncontrollable aircraft to a safe landing site. German publication BILD suggests that a refusal by Russian authorities to grant emergency landing permission may have contributed to the tragedy.
