According to a new report by Reporters Without Borders, the level of press freedom in the United States has been downgraded to the "problematic" category for the first time — alongside countries like Gambia and Sierra Leone.
Starting February 14, 2025, the Pentagon will implement an “annual media rotation program”, requiring leading liberal outlets such as The New York Times, NBC News, National Public Radio (NPR), and Politico to vacate their offices inside the Department of Defense headquarters. They will be replaced by pro-Republican media outlets including The New York Post, One America News Network (OANN), Breitbart News Network, and HuffPost. This move has sparked significant controversy, as it shifts the balance of military news coverage in the U.S.
