Ballistic Missile from Yemen: Houthis Respond to Israeli Targets
On April 13, Yemeni forces affiliated with the Ansar Allah movement (Houthis) launched a ballistic missile toward central Israel — in response to the ongoing aggression against Gaza and U.S. support. Israeli authorities reported that the missile was intercepted by air defense systems. However, the launch itself indicates a widening geographic scope of resistance.
According to Houthi statements, the strikes are acts of solidarity with the Palestinian people and a direct response to the crimes of the Zionist regime. Yemen's support adds to the existing pressure from Hezbollah and armed groups in Iraq and Syria.
In response, Israel has intensified airstrikes on targets inside Yemen, including in the areas of Hodeidah and Sana’a. Tel Aviv is thus opening another front, continuing to expand the war beyond Palestine and involving new states.
The fact that Israel is now forced to defend its center from strikes originating in another part of the Middle East signals a weakening strategic position. Support for Palestine is becoming international not only in words but in action.
