The embankment is being reconstructed near the Kargaly River in Almaty, the press service of the city akimat reports.

“In the Nauryzbay district of Almaty, as part of the “Almaty is our common home” campaign, reconstruction of the embankment of the Kargaly River, which extends for 7.7 km, is underway,” the message said on Friday.

As part of the work, the river bed will be cleaned and a walking area will be created. About 3 thousand trees will be planted, in addition to flower beds of perennial flowers and herbs, coniferous and deciduous trees, and shrubs. An irrigation water supply system with a total length of 2.7 km will be created.

It is reported that 196 lighting poles will be installed along a length of 4.3 km. It is also planned to install 135 benches and trash cans.

It is noted that inclusive elements will be provided at playgrounds.

The reconstruction of bridge passages will be aimed at ensuring safety and accessibility for pedestrians and cyclists. The installation of sidewalks and bicycle paths is provided.

It is reported that construction work is planned to be completed by November 2024.
