Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev thanked Cuban Vice President Salvador Valdés Mesa for attending Eurasian Economic Union events and stressed the importance of Cuba’s involvement in the organization’s activities.

During the meeting, Tokayev noted the relevance of the Eurasian Economic Forum’s agenda on artificial intelligence and expressed interest in expanding bilateral cooperation in this field.

Tokayev described measures being implemented in Kazakhstan to introduce artificial intelligence and digitalize key sectors of the economy. He also said Kazakhstan was ready to share its experience in developing e-government and offer digital solutions for cooperation with Cuba.

Salvador Valdés Mesa conveyed greetings from Cuban President Miguel Díaz-Canel Bermúdez and confirmed Cuba’s interest in further strengthening trade and economic ties with Kazakhstan.

The parties noted significant potential for cooperation in medicine and pharmaceuticals and discussed prospects for developing business, cultural and humanitarian ties.

They also exchanged views on current international and regional issues.
