Tilektes Baibolova, a 72-year-old resident of the city of Kulsary, Zhylyoi district, Atyrau region, had a rented house go under water, and they were left on the street. Now a family of 11 people lives in a two-room barn, reports NewTimes.kz news agency with reference to Orda.kz.
Tilektes Baibolova has five children, two of them sons with disabilities. One doesn’t have a hand, so no one takes it, and the second one also cannot find a job due to disability.
“We lived in our own house, which my late husband built. But after his death, due to loans, he had to sell and rent the old house. But he went under water. Because of the water, the roof fell, we managed to leave the building, but all our things and food remained in the water,” says the elderly woman.
After that they moved to a two-room barn, which their daughter rents. Now it has become housing for 11 people.
“Of course, we are very cramped. We cook, eat and sleep here. But there is also not enough food, because they have not seen or received a single gram of humanitarian aid. My son’s friends collected clothes for us, since all our clothes remained in the water.”
One son, with group III disability, has six children. Their textbooks and clothes also drowned, so now the children cannot study remotely.
“We went to the akimat and asked for help. We were first sent to a center that provides assistance. From there we asked to talk to the district security specialists, but they refused to help us. So I returned empty-handed. Residents receive assistance in the amount of 100 MCI, but our documents remained in the flooded house. I feel very sorry for the children,” says Tilectes Baibolova.
The Zhyloi district akimat promised to help the woman - representatives of the akimat have already met with her and are helping with food and clothing.
