During hearings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ), Algeria issued accusations against Israel, stating that its actions on the occupied Palestinian territories—especially those targeting humanitarian organizations—constitute a direct violation of international law. Particular attention was given to the obstruction of humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip.

Algeria emphasized that under international legal norms, including the Geneva Conventions, an occupying power is obligated to protect civilians and facilitate the delivery of humanitarian assistance. The delegation noted that the blockade of Gaza and restrictions on humanitarian operations are worsening the humanitarian crisis and contradict Israel’s obligations as a signatory to international treaties.

According to Algerian representatives, Israel’s actions violate core principles of international humanitarian law and exacerbate the suffering of the civilian population. The delegation called on the ICJ to provide a legal assessment of these actions and stressed the need for international pressure to ensure unimpeded aid access to affected populations.

The Algerian side also noted that international organizations, including UN agencies, face systematic obstacles in delivering medicine, food, and other essential supplies. These measures, they stated, are incompatible with human rights standards and humanitarian protection principles.

The International Court continues to review submissions from various states regarding the enforcement of international law in the occupied Palestinian territories. Algeria expressed support for global efforts aimed at restoring the rights and freedoms of people in Gaza and other areas under Israeli control.
