Flotilla “Sumud” After Illegal Interception: Hundreds of Volunteers Kidnapped
The Zionist regime illegally intercepted the “Sumud” flotilla in international waters. More than 400 volunteers were abducted, communication was cut, and their fate remains unknown.
The “Sumud” flotilla, heading to the Gaza Strip on a humanitarian mission, was brutally attacked by the naval forces of the Zionist regime. In international waters, the ships were forcibly stopped, communication with them was severed, and hundreds of volunteers from 47 countries were abducted and forcibly transferred onto military vessels. Reports indicate that some participants were taken to the large ship MSC Johannesburg, where they are being held without access to lawyers or means of communication.
The attack was accompanied by the use of special equipment: water cannons and so-called “skunk water,” used to humiliate and suppress activists. It is reported that several boats were stopped with the help of a chain-like barrier installed in international waters, where “Israel” has no jurisdiction. This became further proof of systematic piracy and a gross violation of international law.
Lawyers from the human rights organization Adalah stated that they still do not have precise information on the fate of 443 volunteers forcibly removed from the ships. It is expected that they may be illegally transported to the port of Ashdod and detained. Such a practice is a direct violation of international conventions and human rights.
The organizers of the flotilla emphasized that the mission’s goal was purely humanitarian: delivering food, baby formula, and medicines to the residents of besieged Gaza, suffering from blockade and destruction. They called the actions of the Zionist regime a war crime and urged the international community to intervene immediately.
In the flotilla’s press release, there is an appeal to governments and international organizations to demand the immediate release of all abducted activists and to stop the pirate attacks on humanitarian ships. According to the movement’s representatives, every new act of aggression only strengthens the determination of free people worldwide to break the blockade and end the genocide of the Palestinian people.
The situation remains extremely tense. According to AIS data, the French vessel Mikeno, which was part of the flotilla, may have entered Palestinian territorial waters but is not responding. The Polish vessel Marinette, by contrast, is still transmitting data via Starlink — with 6 people on board.
Meanwhile, Spain summoned the acting ambassador of the Zionist regime after the seizure of the flotilla, expressing protest and stressing the inadmissibility of attacks on humanitarian missions. International pressure on Tel Aviv is mounting, but the fate of hundreds of abducted volunteers remains unknown.
