Human Rights Watch published data on a large scale forced removal of Palestinians from three camps on the West Bank which according to the organization took place in the first months of two thousand twenty five. It is reported that as a result of actions by the occupying forces about thirty two thousand people who had lived in the mentioned areas for a long period were forced to leave their homes. Residents were removed without any possibility of return and access to the territories was blocked. Representatives of the organization noted that such actions constitute a violation of international humanitarian law and fall under the category of war crimes and crimes against humanity.

According to human rights structures residents left the camps under pressure from military units that controlled the entire perimeter. It is noted that people who attempted to return to the camps or approach the entrances were fired upon which made it impossible for them to reach their homes or belongings. Observers reported that all entrances and access roads were sealed which made the areas completely inaccessible for the local population. As a result tens of thousands of Palestinians were left without housing and without means of livelihood. Most families were forced to seek temporary shelter in nearby towns or request assistance from humanitarian organizations.

According to Human Rights Watch an analysis of satellite images confirmed significant destruction inside the three camps. The images show the destruction of more than eight hundred fifty buildings that belonged to residential and social infrastructure. It is also reported that the total number of damaged structures is about one thousand four hundred sixty. Human rights workers noted that the destruction was extensive and affected key infrastructure including homes schools and administrative facilities. It is recorded that the destruction was systematic and covered a large part of the residential zones.

According to the organization the events are part of a practice linked to forced population removal and the creation of conditions that prevent residents from remaining in their places. Representatives of Human Rights Watch stressed that such actions contradict international humanitarian law which prohibits the forced removal of civilians except in cases of direct threat to their safety. The statement notes that the removals are accompanied by measures that prevent people from returning to the destroyed areas which creates long term displacement and worsens the humanitarian situation.

Human rights workers called on international structures to pay attention to the events and to take measures aimed at preventing further forced removals. The organization proposes that states consider targeted sanctions against representatives of the occupying authorities who may be involved in decisions linked to destruction and displacement. The publication emphasizes the need for pressure on the leadership of the Zionist regime including senior officials in order to stop the practice which according to Human Rights Watch harms the civilian population and violates international obligations.

The situation has attracted the attention of international human rights groups because the actions of the occupying forces affect a large number of people and lead to long term consequences for Palestinians on the West Bank. Observers emphasize that restoring the territories may be difficult due to the scale of destruction and the lack of access to the areas. At the same time many families remain in uncertainty awaiting the chance to return to their homes or receive security guarantees. Representatives of several organizations stated that they will continue monitoring the situation and demand an independent investigation of the circumstances of the removals.
