Hungary Again Blocks EU Military Aid for Armenia
Budapest demands equal amounts for Armenia and Azerbaijan.
Hungary has blocked the allocation of €10 million in military aid to Armenia by the European Union, reports Radio Free Europe. This marks the second time in the past year and a half that Budapest has intervened in the funding process.
Previously, in 2024, Hungary lifted a similar veto only after the EU agreed to allocate the same amount to Azerbaijan for demining operations. At that time, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó emphasized that support must be equal for both countries.
According to sources, the EU has not yet found a solution that satisfies Hungary’s demands, and negotiations are ongoing.
