Iran Urges the United States to Choose: Peace or Escalation

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stated that the United States must make a clear choice between a ceasefire and further escalation of the conflict. According to him, it is impossible to pursue both positions simultaneously.

Araghchi emphasized that further developments depend on decisions made in Washington. He noted that the continuation of military actions through regional actors is viewed as a step toward deepening confrontation, while a genuine ceasefire requires consistent political measures.

The statement was made against the backdrop of heightened tensions in the region, including events in Lebanon. According to the Iranian minister, the international community is closely observing the U.S. position and assessing whether it is prepared to reduce tensions or will opt for a force-based scenario.

The Iranian side insists that a ceasefire must be accompanied by concrete guarantees and a halt to further pressure. In Tehran, it is believed that a dual-track policy combining diplomatic statements with support for military operations undermines trust in negotiations.
