Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu informed U.S. President Donald Trump during a call that he could not cancel the planned strike on Iran. According to Axios, the Israeli leader stressed the need to respond to Tehran’s breach of the ceasefire. While both sides discussed ways to de-escalate, Netanyahu insisted that ignoring the incident would be unacceptable.

Israeli media reported that nearly the entire Israeli fighter fleet was mobilized for the operation. However, during consultations, it was decided that only a single target in Iran would be hit. The selected objective, reportedly approved by military command, was described as “symbolic” in terms of its destruction scale.

Sources indicate the strike will target a facility not linked to civilian infrastructure, to avoid casualties and limit international fallout. Israeli officials emphasized that the strike is meant as a warning and does not mark a full resumption of hostilities. The Israeli military reserves the right to take further action should additional attacks occur.

President Trump had previously urged Israel to refrain from conducting strikes, stating that any action undermining the ceasefire would be seen as destabilizing. Nevertheless, Trump stated he would not block Israel’s decision, trusting the operation would remain limited and controlled. The U.S. administration is closely monitoring the situation and remains in contact with both parties.

In anticipation of the attack, Iran maintains a heightened state of military readiness. Air defense systems have been fully activated, and military units are monitoring potential strike vectors. Iranian authorities have not yet issued an official statement, though local media reported possible activation of air raid alerts in several regions.

International organizations expressed concern over the rising tension. UN representatives and officials from several countries have called for adherence to the ceasefire and restraint to prevent renewed conflict. Despite claims of limited action from both sides, the risk of broader hostilities remains significant.

Developments in the coming hours will be critical to the conflict’s trajectory. Iran’s response to Israel’s limited strike remains uncertain. Diplomatic efforts are now focused on preventing further escalation and keeping both sides within the framework of existing agreements.
