Pakistan Warns of War Readiness and Possible Nuclear Response

Pakistan’s Defense Minister Khawaja Muhammad Asif has stated that a military invasion by India may be inevitable. In an interview with Reuters, he said that Pakistan is in a state of high alert amid growing regional tensions. According to him, the country is prepared to resort to nuclear weapons in the event of a direct threat to its national existence.

The minister’s remarks come against the backdrop of escalating tensions between Islamabad and New Delhi, particularly following recent incidents in Jammu and Kashmir. Pakistani authorities have noted increased military activity on the Indian side of the border, including troop movements and enhanced patrolling.

Publicly available video footage has captured the movement of dozens of helicopters from the Pakistani army near the Line of Control. Aircraft were spotted in cities close to the border. Pakistani officials have not disclosed operational details, but emphasized that current military measures are precautionary.

The defense minister stressed that Pakistan does not seek to escalate the conflict but reserves the right to retaliate in the event of aggression. He also stated that any attempt to violate Pakistan’s territorial integrity would be seen as a direct threat requiring immediate response.

The international community has voiced concern over the rising tensions between the two nuclear-armed nations. Various international bodies have called for restraint and renewed dialogue, but the situation in the region continues to deteriorate.

Previously, both countries have engaged in armed conflicts, resulting in casualties and destruction. The current standoff is seen as one of the most dangerous phases in bilateral relations in recent years.
