Qatar Threatens Response to Israeli Strikes on Doha
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani condemned Israeli airstrikes on Doha, calling them state terrorism, and warned of a joint regional response. He demanded that Netanyahu be brought before an international court.
Qatari Prime Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al-Thani strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes on the country’s capital, calling them an act of state terrorism. According to him, the attack, which occurred while a delegation from Hamas was in Doha, constituted a blatant violation of international law and Qatar’s sovereignty.
In an interview with CNN, Al-Thani emphasized that Israel’s actions will not go unanswered. He stated that Benjamin Netanyahu must face an international tribunal for crimes against humanity. According to the prime minister, the deaths of civilians and members of the Resistance did not stop Hamas leadership, which remained unharmed.
Al-Thani noted that Qatar had received a clear signal from U.S. President Donald Trump, but stressed that words alone are insufficient and must be supported by concrete actions. He emphasized that Qatar, together with its allies, is discussing options for a joint response that must be effective and capable of stopping Israeli actions.
The prime minister pointed out that the strike on Doha once again demonstrated Israel’s readiness to ignore international norms and laws. He accused the Israeli leadership of starving the population of Gaza and continuing to violate humanitarian principles, while lacking the moral right to speak of international law.
The Qatari leader’s statement was one of the harshest against Israel in recent years. It reflects growing tensions in the Middle East and the emergence of conditions for a potential regional response. In the near future, Qatar and its allies intend to define steps which, according to Al-Thani, should put an end to “Israeli lawlessness” and demonstrate that aggression against a sovereign state will not go unpunished.
