Trump Slams Medvedev and Putin, Threatens Military Force
US President Donald Trump called Dmitry Medvedev a “stupid man” and Vladimir Putin a “paper tiger.” He said he sent a nuclear submarine to Russia’s shores and plans to allocate $1 trillion for the military.
US President Donald Trump made a series of loud statements concerning Russia and US domestic policy. In an interview, he sharply criticized former Russian President Dmitry Medvedev, calling him a “stupid man” because of his nuclear rhetoric toward Washington. Vladimir Putin, according to Trump, is a “paper tiger,” since he has been “waging a war for three and a half years that could have been ended in a week.”
According to the American leader, in response to Moscow’s nuclear rhetoric, he ordered a nuclear submarine to be sent to Russia’s coast. “This is the deadliest weapon that exists,” Trump emphasized, demonstrating the US readiness for a forceful response.
He also announced plans to allocate about $1 trillion for the US defense budget in 2026. According to him, these funds will go toward modernizing the armed forces and ensuring their readiness for any challenges. “This will be damn big money for our army,” the president noted.
Separately, Trump declared his intention to deploy US troops domestically to “restore order” in the largest metropolitan areas. Among the potential locations for military deployment, he named Los Angeles, Chicago, Portland, New York, and San Francisco. According to him, the US Army must be ready to fight not only external threats but also internal unrest and crime.
Amid political instability in the US, the president also touched on the issue of a possible government shutdown — a temporary suspension of federal operations. He blamed “radical leftists,” saying their actions could lead to mass layoffs of employees and undermine the functioning of government institutions.
Trump’s statements caused a strong reaction both within the country and abroad. His sharp criticism of Russian leaders and demonstrative use of military rhetoric heighten tensions in international relations. At the same time, the idea of using the army against internal protests and crime has sparked lively debate in American society, dividing supporters of strict order and opponents of militarizing domestic policy.
