Germany conducts exercises to protect Berlin amid statements about possible threat

Exercises of the Bundeswehr security battalion were held in Berlin aimed at testing readiness for actions in a possible crisis in Europe. The exercises took place amid warnings from the German defense minister that the risk of military escalation could arise earlier than previously expected.
