At the international airshow in Dubai, an Indian light fighter HAL Tejas crashed while performing a demonstration flight as part of the aerial display program. According to the organizers, the aircraft lost control during one of the maneuvers, after which it fell onto the test range area and caught fire. Immediately after the incident, firefighting crews and rapid response teams were dispatched to the site to contain the fire and secure the surrounding area. Representatives of the airshow confirmed the incident and stated that the causes of the crash will be determined after the technical data and flight recordings are reviewed.

The condition of the pilot who was operating the aircraft at the time of the demonstration remains unknown. Security services noted that access to the crash site is restricted until the completion of the initial inspection. The organizers reported that the airshow’s flight program was suspended during the rescue operations. Dubai authorities stated that investigative teams are already working to determine the circumstances of the incident and are considering technical and operational versions.

The HAL Tejas fighter is a light multirole aircraft developed by Indian industry and actively used in demonstration programs at major international exhibitions. Its participation in the Dubai airshow was part of showcasing India’s aviation technologies and capabilities. According to preliminary reports, the aircraft underwent standard preparation and system checks before the flight, which is a mandatory requirement for all participants in the flight program.

Eyewitnesses reported noticing a sharp drop in the aircraft’s trajectory just before the crash. After hitting the ground, a fire broke out, which was quickly brought under control by specialized teams. Representatives of the airshow said that there was no threat to spectators or exhibition infrastructure, as the demonstration flight zone is located away from the main pavilions and viewing areas. Rescuers began cooling the aircraft fragments and preparing conditions for the commission that must conduct a detailed analysis of the wreckage.

Representatives of the Indian delegation said they are ready to provide technical data for the investigation and cooperate with local services. According to them, the aircraft had been cleared for performing demonstration maneuvers and was in good working condition. A review of the preparation stages will be conducted soon to identify possible deviations in the operation of onboard systems. After completion of work at the site, the aircraft fragments will be transported to a specialized facility for further study.

Airshow organizers noted that such incidents require comprehensive analysis and may lead to adjustments in the rules for demonstration flights. Safety remains a key priority, and all aerial display programs undergo mandatory control. After the initial actions are completed, an official statement will be issued, including inspection results and further decisions on the event program. The full investigation will take time as it involves analyzing technical flight parameters and assessing the aircraft’s condition before the crash.
