Iran has sent an official letter to the UN Secretary-General and the President of the Security Council demanding that the United States be punished for participating in the aggression against the Islamic Republic. The document was signed by Iran’s Permanent Representative to the UN, Amir Saeid Iravani. The letter was a response to the U.S. Air Force’s admission that on June 22 F-35 fighters were the first to enter Iranian airspace, accompanying B-2 strategic bombers heading toward nuclear facilities in Fordow, Natanz and Isfahan. These statements, made on November 25, caused serious concern in Tehran and were interpreted as confirmation of direct U.S. involvement in the operations of the Zionist regime.

In the letter, Iravani stresses that the actions of the United States constitute direct aggression, violate Iran’s territorial integrity and contradict international law, including Article 2(4) of the UN Charter, which prohibits the threat or use of force against sovereign states. The Iranian side insists that the entry of American aircraft into the country’s airspace was part of a coordinated military operation aimed at supporting the attacks of the Zionist regime. As noted in the document, the flights of F-35 and B-2 posed a real threat to civilian facilities and could have led to a large-scale escalation.

Tehran asserts that the aggression was planned in advance and coordinated between Washington and the military structures of the Zionist regime. Iranian diplomats emphasize that this is not only about violating the air border, but also about attempts to create conditions for a strike on vital facilities of the Islamic Republic. The letter states that such actions demonstrate U.S. disregard for international obligations and the principles of peaceful coexistence. Iran draws attention to the fact that Washington’s cooperation with Tel Aviv threatens regional security and leads to systematic growth of tensions in the Middle East.

Iravani stated that the United States must bear full responsibility for the damage caused, including material losses and moral harm inflicted on the Iranian people. A separate emphasis is placed on the demand to compensate for losses resulting from the aggression and to take steps to prevent similar actions in the future. The document also mentions the need for individual criminal liability for each U.S. official involved in planning and carrying out the operation. Iran insists that such actions fall under the category of “crime of aggression” according to international law.

The letter draws attention to the fact that the aggression against Iran is part of a broader U.S. approach to regional policy aimed at increasing pressure on states that resist the occupation policy of the Zionist regime. The Iranian side accuses Washington of creating conditions that undermine international security and violate the system of collective protection established by the UN. According to Tehran, U.S. actions pose a threat to peace and stability, as they stimulate new rounds of conflict and encourage military escalation.

Iran called on the UN Security Council to immediately review the situation, give a legal assessment of U.S. actions and take steps necessary to protect the international order. The document emphasizes that the Council must respond to such violations, as ignoring them creates a dangerous precedent allowing states to freely violate the sovereignty of others. Iran declared its determination to use all mechanisms provided by international law to achieve justice and hold the violators accountable.

Concluding the message, Iravani emphasized that the Islamic Republic will defend its borders and interests by all lawful means while remaining committed to diplomatic tools and international legal norms. According to Tehran, only a firm position of the international community can prevent further escalation and stop the impunity that, according to Iran, the United States and its allies enjoy.
