After months of bloodshed and destruction in the Gaza Strip, the parties have finally reached an agreement aimed at ending the armed conflict. U.S. President Donald Trump announced that Israel and Hamas signed the first phase of a peace plan providing for the release of all hostages and a partial withdrawal of Israeli forces.

“I am proud to announce that Israel and Hamas have signed the first phase of our peace plan. This means that all hostages will be freed, and Israel will pull back its troops to an agreed line as the first step toward a lasting and durable peace. All sides will be treated fairly! This is a great day for the Arab and Muslim world, Israel, all neighboring countries, and the United States,” said Donald Trump.

According to the White House, the release of hostages held by Hamas is scheduled for October 11. Israel has pledged to begin troop withdrawal from the sector on the same day. The plan, proposed by the Trump administration, is the result of multilateral negotiations involving Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey.

The peace agreement includes several stages. The first phase provides for a complete cessation of hostilities and an exchange of detainees. The second phase will establish an international monitoring mechanism to oversee compliance and ensure the delivery of humanitarian aid. In the final stage, the parties will begin negotiations on Gaza’s future governance and the reconstruction of destroyed infrastructure.

According to the U.S. president, the agreement “offers a real chance for long-term stability and opens a new chapter in the region’s history.” He expressed gratitude to the mediators, highlighting the roles of Qatar, Egypt, and Turkey, “whose diplomatic efforts brought the parties to the table and made compromise possible.”

The international reaction has been cautiously positive. The European Union and the United Nations welcomed the signing of the first phase of the peace plan, calling it “an important step toward ending the humanitarian catastrophe in Gaza.” At the same time, analysts note that the success of the agreement will depend on mutual trust and the ability of international partners to guarantee its implementation.
