Signals from Israel and the United States indicate growing tensions around Iran and a shift toward harsher public rhetoric. Reports of heightened combat readiness and closed consultations with the American side are creating a backdrop in which any developments inside Iran are viewed through the lens of potential escalation.

Former Israeli prime minister and current opposition leader Naftali Bennett said that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu held a security meeting with the participation of senior defense officials. According to Bennett, ministers and officers were briefed on Netanyahu’s talks with Donald Trump, with Iran identified as the central topic. These consultations took place amid an overall increase in military readiness.

These statements were made without specifying concrete mechanisms or providing an evidentiary basis, but were perceived as an element of pressure on Tehran.

The context of these remarks raises additional questions. Iranian authorities state that security forces are acting against armed groups and organized participants in unrest, including those using firearms and explosive devices. In this sense, U.S. statements about a “harsh strike” appear to be a political assessment rather than a legally substantiated position, increasing the risk of misinterpretation and further escalation.

Taken together, these developments point to a synchronization of American and Israeli rhetoric. Iran is once again portrayed as a central element of regional instability, while any internal processes within the country are used as justification for intensified external pressure. At the same time, it remains unclear where the line lies between informational signaling and preparation for real action.

For now, the statements are limited to words and demonstrations of readiness. However, the combination of military consultations, heightened combat alert, and harsh public rhetoric creates a situation in which the risk of further escalation remains high, even in the absence of immediate practical steps.
