The Israeli Air Force has launched a series of airstrikes targeting military installations in the Iranian capital. The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed the operation, stating that the strikes were aimed at infrastructure used for military purposes, including warehouses, command posts, and logistics hubs.

According to the IDF, the strikes were carried out using pre-determined coordinates and were part of a broader campaign to neutralize perceived threats emanating from Iranian territory. The Israeli military also noted that efforts were made to limit civilian casualties and damage to non-military infrastructure.

Iranian state and independent media began reporting explosions across multiple districts of Tehran shortly after the operation commenced. Eyewitnesses described the sound of blasts and increased security presence in several parts of the city. One of the reported strikes occurred near the district housing the Red Crescent's office. The organization confirmed its building was not seriously damaged, though destruction was noted nearby.

Emergency services in Tehran were placed on high alert, with rescue and firefighting units dispatched to the affected areas. Authorities are assessing potential casualties and material damage. Residents have been urged to remain calm and follow civil defense instructions.

Israel had previously stated its readiness to strike targets it deems connected to Iran’s military programs. The current operation unfolds amid heightened regional tensions and ongoing exchanges of fire between the two nations. Tehran has not yet issued an official statement on the full scope of the consequences, though diplomatic channels have reportedly been used to lodge protests.

The international community has expressed growing concern over the escalation. The United Nations and several regional countries have called for an immediate halt to the attacks and a return to diplomatic avenues. Global observers continue to closely monitor developments.
