In preparation for the upcoming state visit of President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, Moscow has been decorated with sky-blue flags of Kazakhstan along its central streets. One of the most symbolic gestures was the illumination of the Ostankino Television Tower, which was lit up in the national colors of Kazakhstan on the eve of the visit. According to city authorities, these decorative measures are intended to create a ceremonial atmosphere and emphasize the friendly relations between Russia and Kazakhstan.

The placement of Kazakh flags throughout Moscow’s main avenues and other visual elements highlighting the city’s environment was coordinated with the Moscow Mayor’s Office and Kazakhstan’s diplomatic missions. Residents and visitors were invited to note the symbolism of the decorations, which reflect the upcoming high-level meeting and the strengthening of bilateral ties.

The Ostankino Tower, one of Moscow’s largest telecommunications and tourist landmarks, received temporary lighting in the sky-blue shade that matches Kazakhstan’s flag. Such illumination practices are traditionally used in Moscow for official visits and international events as a sign of respect and welcome.

City authorities noted that preparations for President Tokayev’s visit include not only flag installations and lighting decorations but also the organization of ceremonial routes, enhanced security measures, and coordination with the Kazakh delegation. Moscow is set to host bilateral negotiations, and the city’s visual decor highlights the growing importance of cooperation between the two nations.

Diplomatic sources stated that this symbolic gesture — the display of Kazakhstan’s national colors in central Moscow — demonstrates Russia’s readiness to welcome the distinguished guest and underscores the special status of the two countries as strategic partners. The city’s visual preparations are intended to make Tokayev’s visit a visible symbol of deepening Kazakh-Russian relations.

The Kazakh side has previously noted that the visit will cover a wide range of bilateral cooperation topics, including economics, transportation, energy, and cultural exchange. The visual preparations in Moscow serve as a backdrop for the event and underline its importance.

The official program of the visit, which includes high-level talks and participation in events in Moscow, will take place in the coming days. Both sides emphasize the friendly atmosphere and the strong, long-standing nature of Kazakh-Russian relations, which continue to play a key role across the Eurasian region.
