Egypt has dispatched a large humanitarian convoy to the Gaza Strip, consisting of 600 trucks loaded with food, fuel, and gas. The convoy crossed the Rafah border crossing, which in recent days has once again been used to deliver international aid to residents of the besieged enclave. According to Egyptian authorities, the operation is being coordinated with the UN and humanitarian agencies operating in the region.

After crossing the border, the convoy was partially delayed for inspection by the occupying regime, which controls the entry of humanitarian supplies into the sector. As a result, part of the trucks was redirected to other crossing points to speed up the delivery of essential resources to southern Gaza.

The aid delivery comes amid active negotiations over the possible reopening of the Rafah crossing under international supervision. According to sources, one option under discussion is to transfer logistics management and cargo inspection to the oversight of the UN and the Red Cross to ensure a steady flow of humanitarian supplies.

As part of a separate mission, eight trucks from the World Health Organization delivered medical supplies, surgical equipment, and emergency relief materials to Gaza. These shipments are intended for hospitals facing an acute shortage of medicines and fuel for generators.

Egyptian authorities emphasized that the humanitarian support mission will continue in the coming days. Cairo has expressed readiness to receive additional shipments from international organizations to ensure uninterrupted aid to the Gaza Strip’s population.

Experts note that Egypt’s deliveries are the largest since the beginning of the blockade and could significantly ease the humanitarian crisis. However, difficulties remain in distributing supplies evenly due to destroyed infrastructure and limited access to northern parts of the enclave.
