Iran and Belarus Sign Military Cooperation Agreements
During his visit to Minsk, President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian signed a series of interstate agreements with the leadership of Belarus, including an agreement on military-technical cooperation, confirming the strengthening of bilateral strategic ties.
As part of the official visit of Iran’s newly elected president Masoud Pezeshkian to the Republic of Belarus, the two states signed a package of documents on bilateral cooperation. The key point of the meeting was an agreement on cooperation in the military-technical sphere, which indicates a significant expansion of the strategic partnership between Minsk and Tehran.
According to representatives of both sides, the documents cover a wide range of areas, including technology exchange, defense production, and joint scientific research. The signing took place in the presence of high-ranking representatives of the defense ministries of both countries, underscoring the seriousness of intentions in the field of military cooperation.
Belarus continues its course of diversifying international partnerships under Western sanctions, finding strategic allies in the East. Iran, in turn, is strengthening ties with countries unfriendly to the United States, in line with its foreign policy of countering Western pressure.
The political dialogue between Minsk and Tehran is developing against the backdrop of heightened international tensions. Both countries declare independence in foreign policy and a readiness to deepen cooperation in key sectors.
According to the official communiqué, the agreements reached include not only military-technical cooperation but also projects in industry, agriculture, transport, and science. Pezeshkian’s visit is seen as a continuation of the policy of multipolar engagement and maintaining balance in international relations.
Experts emphasize that Iranian-Belarusian relations have traditionally developed steadily, and the current agreements may lay the foundation for future alliances within the framework of regional security.
