U.S. President Donald Trump made several statements on major international issues in his recent address. He emphasized his "great relationship" with Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and expressed respect for him, noting that “the media hates it.”

Trump said he shared this view with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu: “I told Netanyahu that I respect Erdoğan. If he has issues with him — he should resolve them.” He added that “Erdoğan is very strong and smart. He has done things no one else could,” and called on Israel to “act wisely” in resolving disputes with Turkey.

Regarding the conflict in Gaza, Trump said: “I want the war in Gaza to end. We’re doing everything possible to reach a new ceasefire agreement and secure the release of hostages.”

Trump also highlighted direct talks with Iran and an upcoming high-level meeting scheduled for this Saturday. “We hope for success in negotiations with Iran to prevent it from acquiring nuclear weapons. A deal is our preferred path — it’s in everyone’s interest. We want Israel involved in any agreement,” he said. However, he warned that failure could place Iran “under serious threat.”

On trade, Trump took a firm stance: – “China imposes tariffs that block our car sales.”
– “Canada and Mexico are engaging in unfair trade.”
– “The EU treats us very poorly on trade.”

He stated that the tariffs introduced by his administration may become permanent, but negotiations remain possible. The U.S. is aiming to open new markets — including with China — and achieve fair trade. According to Trump, “many countries will come to us to negotiate customs agreements.”

He also explained why the U.S. hasn’t imposed tariffs on Russia: “We have no trade relations with them due to the war.”

Finally, Trump addressed technological competition: “Right now, we’re ahead of China in the AI race, but we’ll soon fall behind if we don’t achieve energy leadership.”
