Ukraine and the USA Sign Memorandum on Cooperation in the Field of Mineral Resources

Ukraine and the United States have signed a memorandum of understanding on cooperation in the extraction and processing of mineral resources, according to the Ukrainian Deputy Prime Minister. The new document is intended to boost joint projects in the field of strategic resources that are key for energy, high technology, and the defense industry.

The two sides agreed to develop partnership programs, exchange technological expertise, and support investments in the extraction of rare earth elements and critical minerals. Special attention within the memorandum will be given to creating new supply chains independent of third countries.

The document establishes a shared commitment to strengthening energy security, developing Ukraine’s industrial base, and diversifying supply sources for the global market. It is expected that the cooperation will encourage American companies to participate in the development of Ukrainian deposits and in joint processing of raw materials.

The signing of the memorandum comes amid growing global competition for resources essential for the transition to a "green" economy, as well as Ukraine’s efforts to strengthen economic ties with Western partners.

Officials emphasize that the document opens new opportunities for technological cooperation and the development of infrastructure projects aimed at integrating Ukraine into global strategic supply chains.
