Zionist Forces Intercept “Sumud” Flotilla in International Waters
The occupation regime’s navy seized the humanitarian flotilla “Sumud” in open waters. Hamas condemned the act as piracy and terrorism, while Spain summoned the ambassador.
Zionist occupation forces illegally intercepted the ships of the World Flotilla “Sumud,” including the vessel All In, in international waters. The live broadcast previously available on board was suddenly cut off, and communication with the crew and activists has been lost. At present, there is no information on the condition of the participants in the humanitarian mission.
The Islamic Resistance Movement Hamas issued an official statement sharply condemning the actions of the Israeli navy. The document emphasized that the interception of the flotilla and the arrest of peaceful activists, including journalists, constitutes a “barbaric act of piracy and terrorism” and adds to the long list of crimes committed by the occupation regime.
Hamas stressed that the flotilla’s mission was to deliver urgent humanitarian aid to the besieged Gaza Strip, where blockade, genocide, and systematic starvation have continued for the past two years. The organization noted that the attack on ships with a humanitarian mission is a blow not only to the Palestinian people but also to the international community, since it targeted human rights defenders acting within the framework of international law.
“We strongly condemn this barbaric aggression by the enemy’s army against the ‘Fleet of Resistance’ and emphasize that the interception of the flotilla by the Zionist navy is a criminal act that must be denounced by all free people of the world,” the Hamas statement reads.
The organization called on the international community, including the UN, to intervene immediately and take concrete measures to protect the activists and to end the blockade of Gaza. The statement also demanded that the leadership of the occupation regime be held accountable for systematic crimes against civilians.
Despite the attack, one of the flotilla’s vessels managed to reach Gaza’s territorial waters, becoming a symbolic breakthrough of the blockade. The organizers stated that their mission remains purely humanitarian and is aimed at assisting Gaza’s residents.
The incident has caused an international outcry. Spain promptly summoned the acting ambassador of the Zionist regime in Abu Dhabi to deliver a note of protest. Madrid demanded explanations and expressed concern over the attack on ships located in international waters.
Organizers reminded that the current location of the “Sumud” flotilla can still be tracked in real time through the official website, despite attempts by Israeli forces to disrupt the broadcasts.
Thus, the seizure of the humanitarian ships “Sumud” demonstrates a further escalation of the blockade policy and the use of force against civil initiatives. This episode has increased international pressure on the Israeli authorities and has become another indication of the growing isolation of the Zionist regime.
