The Pakistani military has accused India of launching a targeted strike on a hydroelectric power station located in the Pakistani-controlled area of Kashmir. According to the Pakistani side, the facility sustained damage as a result of the attack. It was emphasized that the incident constitutes an act of aggression and a serious violation of international norms.

Military sources report that the strike occurred at night. Part of the station’s infrastructure was damaged, and the distribution system was disrupted. There were no casualties among the staff, but an emergency evacuation was carried out. Pakistani technical teams began assessing the damage and repairing the site. It was noted that the station’s capacity has been temporarily reduced.

Pakistan views the incident as an attempt to undermine energy security in border regions and destabilize the situation. The armed forces command stated that the attack targeted a pre-identified civilian site, which they claim indicates its deliberate nature. Government officials appealed to international organizations to condemn India’s actions.

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent an official note of protest to New Delhi. The document demands explanations and guarantees that such incidents will not be repeated. Pakistan also notified the UN Security Council and initiated consultations with regional states on securing energy infrastructure.

Indian authorities have yet to respond to the allegations. Indian military representatives have previously claimed that strikes target only terrorist facilities and have denied attacking civilian infrastructure. In this regard, Pakistan is demanding an international investigation involving experts and observers.

The hydroelectric station that was targeted is a key energy facility for the region. It supplies several local communities, businesses, and infrastructure with electricity. Damage to the station could result in power outages, especially amid growing tensions and increased military activity in the region.

The situation in Kashmir remains unstable. Following recent strikes, missile exchanges, and mutual threats, both sides continue to reinforce their military presence. The Indian army maintains high combat readiness, while Pakistan is deploying additional forces along the Line of Control. Authorities in both countries are holding emergency meetings and coordinating with partners.

The international community is urging both sides to show restraint and avoid attacks on civilian infrastructure. Several countries have already called for a ceasefire and the resumption of dialogue between India and Pakistan. Meanwhile, the region remains in a state of uncertainty, with military threats continuing to rise.

Both countries have stepped up security at strategic facilities. Additional inspections are being carried out, and potential risks are being assessed. Pakistani engineers are working to repair the damaged equipment and prepare the station for temporary limited operation until full capacity is restored.
