Israeli Armed Forces Enter Quneitra and Support Settlement Attempts in the Golan
Zionist forces invaded Syria’s Quneitra province, fired on motorcycles, and carried out searches. Meanwhile, settlers are attempting to establish themselves in the occupied Golan, violating borders.
The armed formations of the Zionist regime carried out another provocative operation on Syrian territory. Simultaneously with the attempt to settle the occupied Golan Heights, a group of Israeli soldiers crossed the border and entered villages in Syria’s Quneitra province. Local sources report the deployment of troops around schools, the shelling of civilian transport, and mass searches of residential homes.
According to residents of the region, the incursion took place early in the morning. Military forces advanced in columns, seizing key facilities and blocking access to public buildings. Armored personnel carriers were seen at a village school, surrounded by soldiers. On nearby streets, ID checks and searches were conducted. Gunfire was reported targeting motorcycles, presumably belonging to local residents. No official reports of casualties have been released.
At the same time, a group of Israeli settlers attempted an unauthorized border crossing to establish a new settlement on occupied Syrian territory. The area in question is a strategic section of the Golan Heights, under Israeli control since 1967. The attempt to establish a foothold in this territory is particularly concerning given the longstanding international consensus on the inadmissibility of altering the status of the Golan.
Israel’s actions are viewed as a blatant violation of international law, particularly UN Security Council resolutions prohibiting unilateral actions in occupied territories. Interference in the internal affairs of a sovereign state and attempts to forcibly alter the region’s demographic composition have been strongly condemned by several Middle Eastern countries and international observers.
Syrian authorities have not yet issued an official statement regarding the incident, but military-diplomatic sources confirm the border violation and military activity. Observers link the escalation to Israeli attempts to consolidate territorial claims through physical presence on the ground.
The events heighten tensions in southwestern Syria and contribute to further destabilization amid the ongoing occupation of the Golan. Local residents express concern over the escalation of violence and demand that international bodies provide legal and political assessment of Israel’s actions.
